Neuro-Affirming Approaches to Brainspotting
Neuro-Affirming Approaches to BrainspottingΒ is a three-day training designed for Brainspotting therapists (minimum Phase 1-trained) seeking to integrate neurodivergent-affirming principles into their clinical practice. This workshop introduces participants to the neurodiversity paradigm as it applies to therapeutic attunement, processing differences, and trauma conceptualization. Through didactic instruction, live demonstrations, and experiential practicum work, participants will learn to adapt Brainspotting techniques to meet the sensory, cognitive, and relational needs of neurodivergent clients, including those with autism, ADHD, and related neurotypes. Emphasis is placed on flexibility, cultural humility, and awareness of therapist countertransference in cross-neurotype work. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to apply neuro-affirming principles to enhance safety, precision, and efficacy in Brainspotting sessions across a wide range of client presentations.
This training is appropriate for intermediate-level therapists.
